Memory Lane

I got a new cell phone! woohoo! It was a gift from the hubs, it allows me to track my running mileage and workouts. It was super sweet of him...but anyways, the real point of my post is that I have to retire my old phone and in the process I transferred all the photos that were stored there to my computer. I got a little teary browsing through the pics that went as far back as our pre-baby trip to Hawaii.

The Cutest Thing EVER

You know how Lauren turns into a hugging machine when Barney starts singing the "I Love You" song? How she runs to each and every person in the room when he gets to the part that goes: "...with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you..."

Yesterday I hid around the counter to see if she would come running to find me during that part of the show. Nope. Instead, she sat down on the floor next to the sofa where Michelle the cat was napping quietly, grabbed Michelle by the ears and planted a big wet one on her nose. She then rested her arm across Michelle's back and hugged her like that until the song was over.

Catch up time!

Man, man, man..the last month has been so crazy-busy-fun for us. I've been posting to the blog in my head I just haven't had time to sit down and type it all up.

There haven't been any major happenings, just the day to day goings on of life, work, and family that make for a very busy and blessed life. Among these things: family birthdays, holidays and milestones, our growing garden, a couple of road trips, and training for a marathon.

"Whatwhatwhat?!?!?" I can hear you say...Marathon?! More about that in a future post. I'll try to post more before the end of the week. For now, here are a couple of pics Lauren's golf lesson:

We were about to settle in for the night when Lauren surprised us with a magic trick and made a fridge magnet disappear (into her armpit! Ha!) I don't know if my sister taught her or if she just made it up on her own, but it's so friggin' cute I had to share.

Our little pumpkin

It's pumpkin patch time again. Last year, Lauren was too little to really enjoy the experience. This year was a lot more fun. We went to a small pumpkin farm (we actually found one with no admission and minimal inflatable decorations...hard to find those these days). We brought my godson, Angel, with us and he had fun going through the corn maze with Pete and pulling Lauren along in a wagon. There was a baby maze made of bales of hay for Lauren too. She was much more interested in dirt, hay, and rocks than the pumpkins and the maze though! Every couple minutes she stopped dig her hands in the dirt or pick up rocks. I'm pretty sure she licked a couple of them when I wasn't looking. Sigh...strange kid.

Summer's last hurrah

Summer is fading away and it's Lauren's last chance to wear her pretty summer dresses. I especially like this eyelet dress made of the softest organic cotton. I used to think organic clothing was mostly a lot of brouhaha and didn't want to spend the extra bucks for it. But really, some of the organic cotton clothes she's received as gifts have been soooo nice and soft.
