Baby Therapy

One of my coworkers came to visit last week. She wanted a dose of "Baby Therapy," the wonderful feeling that holding a snugly, warm, sleeping baby can bring.

She also brought by some food for me and Peter, including complete Italian dinner, including wine, a loaf of bread, and chocolate! You can come by for baby therapy any time you want, Jo!

Projectile Poop

I'd heard of projectile vomit before (I'd seen the Exorcist), and even projectile pee (more common with baby boys)...but have you ever heard of projectile poop?

Our dear sweet little girl demonstrated a new skill! Propelled by a powerful gas bubble, A stream of grainy, mustardy poop shot out of her cute little bottom and travelled a distance of 5 feet, landing in the hallway just outside of her nursery. It was no small feat, mind you. This burst of poop shot through the narrow space between the slats of her changing table with such accuracy, we were so proud! She's so talented!!! We captured it on videotape but I thought I'd spare you the grainy details and draw it for you instead.

One month old!

It's hard to believe that Lauren has been in our lives for a month now. In some ways it seems like yesterday, but in others it feels like forever and I can't imagine what life was like without her.

So what is she like? Now that we've gotten to know her we've decided that she is 95% sweetheart and 5% screaming banshee which she uncannily expresses as soon as the latest visitor has walked out the front gate. Her cheeks, although not as pudgy as when she was first born, are still unbearably kissable and she's begun to coo and gurgle which undoubtedly will cause her daddy to be wrapped even tighter around her little finger and never be able to let go.

In honor of her one month birthday, I put together a little video chronicling her first month of life. Enjoy!

It's just you and me, kid....

Peter went back to work today so it was the first time I had to handle Lauren on my own through the night and for most of the day. Thanks Grandma for coming over to bring me lunch and give me a 2 hour nap! It went pretty well...I think I can do this mommy thing!

I'm 3 weeks old today!

We celebrated Lauren's 3 week birthday by having some friends over. They were her first visitors at home besides our immediate family. Peter's friends came over and we made a toast to the newest addition to our family of friends with a very special bottle of bubbly.
