Mommy Sense...

The first time it happened, I thought it was a fluke...but I felt it again today. While driving to my mom's house with Lauren strapped down safely in her carseat, I noticed a big truck approaching behind me and I anticipated that he would try to overtake me and..I kid you not...my boobs started tingling! It's the mommy version of Spidey Sense! Next thing you know, he speeds up and dangerously tries to pass me before our lanes merged and cuts me off with only inches to spare. I slammed on the brakes and cursed under my breath while the tingling continued for a few more seconds. The last time it happened I was also in the car, at a four way stop. I had a feeling that the girl yapping on her cell phone in the car to my left wasn't paying attention and I felt "the sense" then. Even though I arrived at the stop several seconds before she did (plus I was the driver on the right!), she attempted to cross the intersection after I had started to go and luckily I was ready for her and didn't have to stop too suddenly. Funny how I've only had the sensation when Lauren's in the car with me.

Now I've heard of breastfeeding mothers leaking when they hear another baby cry, but tingling boobs at the first sign of danger? You never read about that in the baby books! So if you happen to be with me and hear me exclaim "My Mommy Sense is tingling" you'll know what I'm talking about and you better run for cover.

A Day in the Life...

The last time I posted a "Day in the Life" photo series, Lauren was about 3 months old and most of her day consisted of sleeping, pooping, and eating. This time around, there's so much more going on!

What websites do you visit each day without fail? I've listed some of mine (see left margin). As you can see, they mostly involve parenting and/or saving money. I highly recommend rookie moms to any moms out there with babies or toddlers...lots of fun projects and ideas.

Happy Birthday!

Grandpa found a special surprise message when he went to change her diaper last week.

Mystery Benefactor

A few weeks ago, we received a savings bond in the mail. There was no card or indication of who sent it, just the bond with Lauren's name on it in an envelope. If you were the generous sender of this savings bond (or have any idea who it could be) please let us know so we can thank you for such a generous gift. If you would like to remain anonymous...then Thank You!!!!! It's Lauren's first savings bond! woohoo!

It's Ok Daddy...it's just a game.

Daddy was very sad last night so when we got back from a superbowl party, Lauren gave him a big hug and a comforting pat on the back.
