The Nursery

Finally, the nursery is ready. We had a hard time deciding how to decorate. Since we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl, the decor choices were limited at the baby superstores. I wanted something hip and different. In the beginning I was adamant that we were not decorating with a pallette of pastel mint green and pale yellow. We would not do duckies, teddy bears or cutesy animals. I was not giving in to Babies R' Us!

Well, guess what...we've got duckies, teddy bears and cutesy animals with pale yellow walls and minty green crib bedding. I just couldn't help it..it was just all so darned cute. But we've also decorated with onesies that our friends made for that personalized touch.

This room used to be our media room...with heavy velvet drapes blocking out all light, surround sound that would make your teeth rattle, movie posters and memorabilia covering the walls and Peter's prized widescreen HDTV as the centerpiece. Well, down came the Lord of the Rings posters and swords (yes, he had actual full size replica swords) and up went the quilt with a big giraffe munching on a purple flower.

He had to give up the swords, but it's all worth it.

What a major transformation. It took me a while to figure out which room this one was. It looks absolutely beautiful. I am sure your baby will love it:)

The nursery looks fantastic - you'll both be spending a lot of time in there! The onesies are adorable. Makes me wish I had a . . no I am waiting for grandchildren in the far future.
I am praying for Pizza's health and for both of you -
Love, Jo

i much prefer the onesies to the swords. though i do maintain, the tv would likely look much better in my apartment than the bedroom. hhahaha.

Those onsies are so cute! Keep the heavy drapes in the room for those "crack of dawn" feedings and changings. The last thing you want to see is DAYLIGHT! lol!
