My mom's surgery went off without any major complications. She was in surgery for nearly 8 hours. They found that her tumor was malignant and that she had Stage 1 lung cancer. The good news is that it was caught very early. The bad news is that they had to remove the upper lobe of her right lung and a bit of the middle lobe to ensure that all of the cancer was removed. She is a trooper and is recovering nicely in the ICU.
Thanks everyone for good thoughts, support, and prayers. I have to head back to the hospital now. I had all of 20 minutes to play with Lauren this morning and then she was off to Grandma P's for the day. We will probably take her to see Grandma R. in the hospital tomorrow.

I'm EXHAUSTED!!! But the good news is that she is doing ok. Hey, Vicki..can you let everyone there know that mom is doing well? I sent a msg on friendster but don't know if everyone got it. I haven't had a chance to call. Thanks!
